Selsie

as I await her graceful descent
I recoil from a generation imbued with contempt
a prelude to a long awaited era of bliss
for the cancerous fear to be dismissed by her kiss.
a kiss I say from lips as smooth as silk
shattering the walls of shadows and such ilk.
I clamber up my hill of pride as her light stabs my recluse
for she is my crescent in my starless sky
painted by the tears of a thousand suns
and blotted by the sins of my undying ancestors.
my struggle has no direction or meaning
if I fail in gaining her acceptance
if I tire in my quest of persuading her love
because for me heaven lies in her bosom
her treasure house of emotions
reminding me of how human I am
but of the god I could be
as she is a goddess to me.
